What is a Nappy Cake?

A nappy cake is made from any disposable nappies. The nappies are either rolled and fastened with a rubber band, or using a round tin - placed along to sides to form a fanned out look. These tiers are then covered with cloth nappies or receiving blankets and decorated with toys, ribbons, baby clothes, flowers and bibs. A good idea is also to place baby cream, baby hair brushes, baby soap, etc inside the cake as a lovely surprise when the cake is opened.
